Café Gaby
About This Spot
Stepping into Café Gaby feels like finding a quiet nook in the heart of Lourmarin’s lively Place Ormeau, where time slows just enough for you to savor the moment. The hum of nearby conversations drifts through open-air seating, inviting both locals and visitors to settle in under the gentle Provençal sun or the soft glow of evening lights. It’s a place where the day unfolds naturally—no rush, no fuss—just the easy rhythm of good company and well-prepared food.
Inside and out, the atmosphere balances the warmth of a neighborhood café with the vibrant pulse of a convivial bar. This dual spirit shapes the experience: whether you’re pausing for a leisurely lunch or winding down with a carefully crafted spritz as people stroll by, Café Gaby offers a welcoming backdrop that feels genuinely lived-in. The attentive service complements rather than commands, adding to the relaxed familiarity that makes you want to linger just a little longer.
Here, meals emerge not simply as dishes but as moments to share and savor—the generous salads, comforting gnocchi, or the satisfying heartiness of steak and frites all speak of honest ingredients treated with care. The menu’s variety mirrors the community itself, where Provençal flavors mingle with touches from beyond. Whether accompanied by a crisp local rosé, a refreshing lemonade, or a casually enjoyed beer, each bite and sip deepens that sense of place.
What truly colors the experience at Café Gaby is its lively yet unpretentious spirit—meals are generous but never hurried, bustling yet intimate, perfect for watching the afternoon shift into evening. It’s a spot where the simple act of sharing food becomes a quiet celebration of Lourmarin’s everyday pleasures.

We happened upon this cafe during a recent visit to Loumarin. The food was excellent and a great value. My wife’s gnocchi was the star of the show. The Salade Niçoise was huge and delicious. Carpaccio was very good and fresh. Excellent cheese plate.

Steak Frites and the goat cheese salad were delicious, and the cheesecake after was excellent. With 2 glasses of local rose and 2 coffees, this was a great lunch for €50

Lovely cafe with a varied menu and a good choice of beers and wine. Plenty of seating in and outside. It is popular and does get busy.

Small restaurant with excellent service. Good food, generous portions, and affordable prices. Welcoming atmosphere. I don't know if it's because it's a busy time of year, but the cleanliness of the bathroom could be improved, since there's only one and it's mixed-gender.

What a great place to enjoy a delicious meal and enjoy the atmosphere of beautiful Lourmarin! The staff was really friendly and we had a nice chat. You must try the Gaby salad!

We were searching for a place to eat lunch on a Saturday giving the fact that it was late in the afternoon and as you know in France restaurants serve food till around 3-4 pm. The waiter from another restaurant in Loumarin recommended this local and it was really good. The food came quickly (that's a really good point) , the salad was amazing, the duck was juicy and the fries fresh, not dry. Usually we don't drink wine (sad I know) so for this part we can't give any help. As for the prices, you are in France's most beautiful villages, what do you expect? We paid 20 € for the duck and 15 € for the salad. We didn't need reservation. The waiters were really nice.

This was such a wonderful place to have lunch. The staff was so kind in helping us to identify items on the menu and we enjoyed everything we preserved including the Gnocchi and Chicken Bruschetta. The homemade deserts were also incredible we had a warm chestnut cake and a caramel cheesecake.
